WAVAW provides immediate crisis assistance including accompaniment to the Vancouver General Hospital emergency.

WAVAW also provides:
Counselling services including Indigenous counselling
Support for families of missing Indigenous women.
Police and court accompaniment


BC Women’s Hospital has a team of examiners are on-call 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

You can go to Vancouver General Hospital Emergency or UBC Hospital Emergency and a team member will meet you. You are welcome to bring a support person with you.

Interpreters are available for those who are deaf or have difficulty with English.

Human Trafficking


The Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline is a confidential, multilingual service, operating 24/7 to connect victims and survivors with social services, law enforcement, and emergency services, as well as receive tips from the public.

The hotline uses a victim-centered approach when connecting human trafficking victims and survivors with local emergency, transition, and/or long-term supports and services across the country, as well as connecting callers to law enforcement where appropriate.
